It’s always lovely being invited to press days, this is a chance for me to not only meet the PR’s face to face that I’ve chin-waged back and forth with, but to meet the team that design the items as well and learn about what inspired them, what made them choose the fabrics, colours and the whole sizing process! It was such a pleasure to attend the Studio8/Phase8 press evening and I was actually surprised at the amount of items I loved! Studio8 is the plus size sister brand to Phase8 and currently ranges from size 16-24, and I was delighted to hear they are looking to increase to a size 26 next year as well as finding out they not only size on a size 18 model but on a size 24 also which is paramount for a well fit plus size range! I can’t stress how important this is to size on a large built body, as someone who has worn a size 28 in the past, I’m sure I’m not alone in saying you can’t just make an item bigger everywhere and say you go upto a size 30, It doesn’t work that way, you NEED to be sizing on larger girl so It was refreshing to hear they are!
There were several rails of garments I could fall in love with without fear of them not being in my size, granted most of them were a little long for my 5’3 height but we all need a good excuse to wear heals right? They had more than I had anticipated seeing so it was lovely to see such a variety of both dresses, jumpsuits and singles like skirts, tops and jackets.
Whilst I’m not engaged or married, I did swoon over Phase8’s bridal collection along with every other woman in there! which does go upto a size 18 and Hollie from PrettyBigButterflies made an excellent point whilst we were there swooning, that their prices were so reasonable for a wedding dress that you could easily get it re-sized at your local seamstress’s! There were a couple of other items that stuck out to me like this fur cape and necklace below.
Hollie and I were also attending Boohoo’s Blogger Christmas party in Millbank Tower which was SWISH AS FUCK ! It was AMAZING! Karaoke, Open bar, DELISH Christmas food and beautiful company! What more could you ask for? Oh, that’s right, Danie & I jamming to Christmas music in November in front of a Christmas tree. Yep, it had it all! I spotted so many familiar faces & faces I’ve stalked on Instagram ( c’mon we’ve all fangirled at some point ) and it was so lovely to see them all there! Here’s a cheeky OOTD that I wore for the 2 events! I absolutely LOVE this dress. It was such a bargain! It also comes in red for those that like that extra va va voom! I can tell this is going to be getting worn alot over the next few months. What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
